Legal Awareness Trust, previously known as Pakistan Legal Awareness Trust, has now been restructured into a new and compliant entity to meet FATF requirements. While the name has changed, our mission remains rooted in the same values that have guided us for the past 28 years. We are committed to educating, empowering, and supporting the public by making the law accessible, understandable, and actionable for everyone, especially those who have been historically overlooked by the justice system.
Since our inception, we have successfully uploaded over 8,500 laws and more than 15,000 case laws to our platforms. In addition, we have conducted over 250 Zoom lectures, breaking down complex legal topics into simple and practical knowledge for the public. Recognizing the ongoing need for structured learning, we also offer a comprehensive legal course and certificate program designed to build legal capacity among students, professionals, and anyone seeking to better understand the legal system. These programs aim to cultivate a legally aware society that can protect its rights and support others in doing the same.
A key and deeply impactful part of our work is public interest litigation. We actively pursue legal action in cases where injustice has occurred, particularly to help release innocent individuals who have been wrongfully detained or imprisoned due to lack of representation, systemic issues, or misuse of power. These efforts reflect our unwavering belief that justice should not depend on one’s financial means or social status.
As we continue to grow, we are also expanding into broader areas of public welfare. These include free legal clinics, jail visits, education for disadvantaged children, medical camps, food and clothing drives, marriage support for low-income families, women empowerment through vocational skills and financial literacy, clean water initiatives such as hand pump installations, environmental sustainability projects, and animal welfare campaigns.
